Updates from the Homeowners Board
Holiday Greetings
To all of our fellow homeowners, your homeowner’s association board would like to wish all of you, the warmest and joyous holiday season this year.
This season brings a lot for all of us to be thankful for and we will be sharing time with our extended families. Please be ever vigilant of our neighborhood with respect to vehicles and individuals who you think do not belong or look out of place. Please report this to 911 immediately and remember, it is better to be safe than sorry- report it if you have any concerns at all.
In an effort to bring our community closer together in this season, we are bringing back one of our earlier community traditions - Cookies with Santa on December 6! View the flyer for more details and be sure to RSVP to the evite from the Social Committee!
A long time tradition that our community has been praised for is our luminaries. View the flyer for more details. Your Block Captains will be delivering your luminaries to you by December 17th. We are looking for 100% participation. Our neighborhood simply beams on Christmas Eve when you ride through our streets and see just how beautiful it is. If you are going to be out of town, please arrange for one of your neighbors to put out your luminaries. Also remember to clean up the following morning.
2012 is right around the corner and we want to wish all of our neighbors a Wonderful New Year.
Sincerely,
Ike Tate
President QHE-IV HOA

A Reminder from Your Architectural Committee
This is a reminder from your architectural committee that any changes you are planning that will alter the appearance of your home as seen from the street requires committee approval. These include such changes as: Color of the roofing, trim, or base, Fencing, Flag poles, Driveways, Sidewalks, Satellite dishes, Patios, Decks, Sun Rooms, Shutters. Maintenance tasks like re-painting using existing colors, replacing gutters, pressure washing drives, or any other activity that restores the property do not require committee approval. These are tasks that do not make any obvious changes as seen from the street. Any questions, contact Ryan Williams at (704) 553-7128 or email the Architectural Committee at Architectural@quailhollowestatesiv.com
Topping Trees Is Harmful and Creates a Hazardous Tree! Although common, TOPPING is a harmful pruning practice. Topping is the indiscriminate cutting back of tree branches to stubs or lateral branches that are not large enough to assume the terminal shoot role. Or more simply, topping is the removal of more than 1/3 of the foliage and limbs of a tree. Topping stresses all trees, including the crepe myrtle, and creates a hazardous tree. Topped trees are more susceptible to decay, storm damage, and bark tissue sunburn, and in the long run create an expensive, high maintenance pruning practice. It is always best to call a Certified Arborist when you feel your trees need pruning. To find a list of Certified Arborists in the surrounding area, check out the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) website, www.isa-arbor.com. Please help us stop this harmful practice! If you have any questions please talk to Tom Johnson at 7944 Bradenton Dr.
