Community Information
Community Watch:
Quail Hollow Estates IV is an official Neighborhood Watch community. Signs are posted to alert criminals and we were an active participant in the South Charlotte Homeowners Against Residential Crime (S.C.H.A.R.C.) pilot program earlier this year. QHE-IV is one of two communities which remained crime free over the last nine months.
- To maintain a crime-free neighborhood, please continue to focus on the following:
Don’t be complacent! Be aware of your surroundings. If you see something that does not look right, it probably isn’t. Call 911. - Do not open the door to solicitors. Let them know you are inside but you are not interested. Call 911, let the police sort through solicitors.
- If you are going to be away, do not stop your mail and newspaper delivery. Ask a neighbor or friend get your mail and paper for you each day and collect packages and notices from left on your doorstep.
- Keep garage doors down, cars locked and do not leave anything visible in vehicles. Temptations include garage door openers, sunglasses, cell phone cords, CDs, and GPS units.
- If you do not know your neighbors, get to know them. Build a relationship to watch out for each other.
- Turn on your outside lights at night or put them on timers. Lighting at night is a powerful deterrent.
Charlotte Bearden is doing a wonderful job as our Neighborhood Watch Chairperson and connects with our local Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) Response Area 1 representatives to provide our community with news and alerts.

See what some of our neighbors are saying about the Community Watch News:
Just wanted to say that you have really done a great job on keeping the neighborhood informed. I believe that these efforts really make people vigilant about keeping an eye out in the neighborhood. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you for sending these emails. Although it worries me when I read about events so close to home, I have developed a much greater awareness and am more careful to protect myself and my belongings.
Thanks for sending these updates. I actually take a second to look through some of them. It just amazes me how many car break-ins there are. I bet that’s 70% of what’s on these reports you send. It has made us more diligent on making sure nothing is visible in our cars…whether it’s in our driveway or away at work.
Coyote Update:
There have
been recent events in the media regarding coyotes attacking pets in and
around Cameron Wood and houses that border the McMullen Creek Greenway.
In a community meeting held on October 5th with CMPD, Animal
Care & Control and the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, we learned that
coyotes are prevalent in our area and we need to coexist. The reports of
incidents, with the exception of the recent attacks, have been steady
for five years. CMPD will respond to life threatening situations
involving coyotes or where a coyote is behaving abnormally (indicating
possible rabies) however do not have resources to assist with sightings.
Please read the notes from the
community meeting which includes tips for avoiding conflicts.
As a
reminder, please ensure your pets have updated rabies vaccinations.
Should they encounter wildlife found to have rabies and do not have
current vaccinations, they are required to be quarantined at a local
veterinary hospital for six months, at your expense with no visitation.
All the dogs involved in the recent attacks were current on their rabies
vaccinations.
